If you know me, you know my favorite TV show is ABC’s Revenge (a close second is the Daily Show, but that’s another matter). I love watching and tweeting, discussing and dishing about the show – but don’t ask me what it is that has me so captivated. The story line is juicy, but not much more so than on other dramas – if I had to point to one thing, I’d say it’s the casting. Emily VanCamp, Gabriel Mann, Madeleine Stowe, and Nick Wechsler in particular have such flippable personalities throughout every episode that you really never can tell what they’re going to do.
The other element is the style – since Sex and the City, it no longer works to relegate wardrobe and set design to secondary positions. While little of the show is actually filmed in the Hamptons, the mise en scene of Revenge easily sweeps the viewer along through a dreamy oceanfront world where much is hidden in the depths of its beauty. Speaking of wardrobe, we’re looking forward to some fabulous appearances from our clients this season – stay tuned! In the meantime, ABC released some new wickedly chic cast photos recently that we’re loving.
Tonight is the Season One recap (ABC 10pm) and the big premiere is on Sunday! Can’t wait!!!
